Calhoun County School District has been named "Heart-Safe Schools" by Alabama LifeStart, a school safety program of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Children's of Alabama.  The district's elementary, middle and high schools are the state's newest Heart Safe Schools, joining a handful of others around the state to earn the commendation. John Stone, manager of community action at Children's of Alabama, presented the award to district leaders during the February 2022 Board Meeting.
