During the August board meeting, Whitney Welch from Alexandria High School was recognized for her accomplishments as head volleyball coach for the Lady Cubs. Accomplishments include:

Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A Volleyball Coach of the Year
2017-2018 AHSAA Volleyball Class 5A State Champions
