Mrs. Tammy Haynes

I love being a part of Ohatchee Elementary School! I grew up in the community of Saks where I graduated from high school, attended Jacksonville State University and received my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. I started my teaching career at Alexandria for the first five years, continured on at Saks for four more, and have been here at Ohatchee on the creekbank for the last eighteen years. I have taught several grades and subjects through the years. I currently teach 5th grade Science.

I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, spending time with my amazing family, my church, anything outdoors, exercising, Auburn football, the beach, the mountains, big cities, sunsets on my back porch, a good book to read, traveling, going to the movies and curling up for movie night at home. 

I have been married to Bruce Haynes for 31 years, and we reside in Ohatchee, Alabama. Bruce is an Ohatchee graduate and works as an insurance agent for ALFA Insurance Company. He loves helping people protect the ones they love and the things that are important to them. 

Our life together has been quite a journey that became very adventurous when God blessed us with 5 children (4 of them at one time!). Yes, life became very interesting when the quads were born!

Anna Lee, our oldest, has a graphic design degree from JSU and is married to Jordan Weathers from Columbus, Mississippi. Jordan holds a masters in School Administration from the University of Alabama and is principal of Oxford Elementary School. Anna is the general manager of O'Brand Marketing. They have given us our first two grandchildren, Ada, who is 6 years old and Harper, who is 3. They reside in Anniston, AL.

Mary Elizabeth holds a Communications degree from Auburn University and works for Chattanooga Youth Network in Chattanooga, TN.

Sarah obtained a Human Development & Family Studies degree from Auburn University and is married to Ben Waller from Columbia, SC where he received his undergraduate degree. Ben graduated from Covenant Seminary in 2016 and works for Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, NY. Sarah works as a birth mother counselor for Bethany Christian Services in NYC.

Will holds a masters in Building Science from Auburn University and works at Turner Construction in Nashville, TN with his wife, Melodie. Melodie is from Kansas and holds a degree in Social Work from Texas Christian University and works for Hastings Architecture.

Caitlin graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies and received her masters in Social Work from the University of Alabama. She lives in Nashville, TN and works for Centerstone as a counselor.

I thank God for my family and the opportunity to serve the community of Ohatchee.
