• Coach  

    Varsity Head Coach Rebecca Hughes graduated from Saks High School in 2012 where she played volleyball and softball. She was the starting setter for the Wildcats for 4 years.  She was on the 2012 state championship softball team, won 2 area championships, 4 regional championships and had 4 state tournament appearances. She graduated from Jacksonville State University in April 2016 and was hired on at Ohatchee Elementary in the kindergarten grade level and is currently the Pre-K teacher. She is starting year 3 on the Creekbank. She was the JV head coach for the 2017 season where she produced an impressive winning record and a 4th place finish in the Calhoun County JV Volleyball Tournament. She currently resides in Weaver with her husband, Zeke Hughes. 

     

    Coach Kendall Poe will be the assistant coach for the Varsity Lady Indians this year. Poe is a 2008 graduate of Ragland High School. She was on the 2004 state championship softball team, won 6 area championships, 4 regional championships, and had 5 state tournament appearances. She graduated from Jacksonville State University in April 2013 and was hired on at Ohatchee as the 10-11 grade History teacher. Coach Poe is the head varsity softball coach working closely with Coach Hughes as her assistant. Under Coach Poe the softball program has won 2 area championship, a regional championship, and the school's first ever state tournament birth. She is co-sponsor of SGA. Coach Poe holds a master's degree from the University of West Alabama in Instructional Leadership. She resides in Alexandria.
