      To equip students with the employability and technical skills required for employment and/or advanced training in the growing field of health related occupations.

    • PROGRAM OVERVIEW
      As part of a simulated work environment at Calhoun County Career Academy, Health Science students are given the opportunity to prepare for various health professions through provision of a rigorous curriculum, hands on activities, guest lecturers, simulation labs, community service opportunities, leadership opportunities and job shadowing. Our Program provides a valuable learning experience where students learn skills that are in high demand.  Through a comprehensive program, students will work toward becoming college and career ready.  All Health Science students have the opportunity to further their knowledge and skills by participating in state and national leadership conferences.         HOSA is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education (HSE) Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health science instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership.
